Carolyn Chandler

Carolyn Chandler’s love for Service has carried her through many roles in her life, to include daughter, soldier, mother, and finally, Realtor. Unlike some agents, Carolyn did not dream of a career in real estate since she was a young child. However, she did have one constant vision throughout her life, and that was to create a beautiful life for herself and her family in a safe and happy environment. Carolyn spent most of her childhood in the quaint Annapolis neighborhood of St. Margaret’s, along the Chesapeake Bay.

Despite being blessed with a wonderful childhood, spent mostly on horseback, Carolyn yearned to experience life outside of her “comfort zone.” At twenty-two, as U.S. forces were gearing up for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Carolyn decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and enlisted in the Army to serve her country in its time of need. After completing four years in Army Signa Intelligence, Carolyn signed a blank check to the government and reenlisted in the most overlooked position: the military spouse. When her husband received orders to Manheim, Germany, and subsequently deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carolyn made the most of her new life, immersing herself in the local culture and becoming fluent in German. During those three years in Germany, she worked as a government contractor for GTE Government Services, working in tandem with her husband’s unit, the 7th Signal Brigade.

Throughout her time in service, and after that, Carolyn continued to strive for the highest of standards and remained on the Dean’s List at the University of Maryland University College European Division. In March of ’97, Carolyn returned to the U.S. and by the same time the following year, began her lifelong career – as a mother.

In 2003, Carolyn and family returned to Germany for another three years in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, The Big Red One. While with the 1st ID, Carolyn held a critical leadership role with the Division’s Family Readiness Group, providing comfort and support to military families, as well as her 4-year-old daughter and 10-month old son. After returning to the States, following their final active-duty tour, Carolyn became focused on finding just the right environment for her family to establish their roots. In 2009, Carolyn found just what she was searching for and moved her family to Silver Run, Maryland.

It was here, in this rural setting, that she fell in love with a value-based, sense of community that she and her children now call home. It was also here that she discovered her passion for Real Estate, becoming licensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania. After sixteen moves to various locations around the world, Carolyn understands how stressful moving can be. For this reason, she has come to know just what it takes to make, what can seem an overwhelming task, a positive and successful experience.
